Bronze/Beginning ( $62.50 ) - Ages 8 & under Bronze group are beginning swimmers who have had limited swim or stroke instruction. Training: Swimmers should attend a minimum of 2 practices a week. Monday - Thursday 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM Goals: To be able to swim all 4 strokes with a minimum skill level; increase leg strength; follow proper lane swimming, introduction to competitive swim meets. Bronze/Advance ( $82.50) - Ages 8 & under Bronze group are 8 & under swimmers who are able to swim at least 25 yards of all 4 strokes Training: Swimmer should attend a minimum of 3 practices per week. Monday - Thursday 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Goals: To be able to swim all 4 strokes with a minimum skill level; increase leg strength; follow proper lane swimming, introduction to competitive swim meets, introduction to intervals. Silver Beginner ( $95.00 ) - Ages 9 & 10 Silver group includes beginning swimmers. Training: Swimmers at this level should attend a minimum of 2 practices per week. Monday - Thursday 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Goals: Learn all 4 strokes. Develop an understanding of basic training drills. Strengthen legs. Learn how to read the pace clock. Be able to swim a 100 IM without stopping, dive off the starting blocks, and do freestyle flip turns. Silver Advanced ( $105.00 ) - Ages 9 & 10 Silver group includes advanced swimmers. Training: Swimmers at this level should attend a minimum of 3 practices per week. Monday - Thursday 5:15 PM to 6:30 PM Goals: Learn all 4 strokes. Develop an understanding of basic training drills. Strengthen legs. Learn how to read the pace clock. Be able to swim a 100 IM without stopping, dive off the starting blocks, and do freestyle flip turns. Advanced members should be able to swim 50 yards nonstop in all 4 stokes. Gold Beginners ( $105.00) - Ages 11 & 12 Gold group are beginning 11 & up swimmers who have had limited swim or stroke instruction and need formal training and conditioning before being placed in the advanced group. Training: Swimmer should try to attend a minimum of 2 practices per week. Monday - Friday 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Goals: To be able to swim all 4 strokes with a minimum skill level; increase leg strength; follow proper lane swimming, introduction to competitive swim meets, learn to read a pace clock. Gold Advanced ( $112.50) - Ages 11 & 12 Gold group is for 11-12 year old swimmers who have had some stroke instruction but have not yet mastered the technical basics of all four strokes. Members of this group should be able to read the pace clock and should also be able to swim at a minimum skill level, the 100 IM without stopping, dive off the starting blocks, and do freestyle flip turns. Training: Focus on conditioning with some drill and stroke work. Swim competitively in meets. Should attend 4 workouts per week. Monday - Thursday 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM Goals: Become proficient in all 4 strokes and the 200 IM. Learn to swim drills following the pace clock. Strengthen Legs. Be able to swim a 200 IM without stopping. Develop competitive swimming skills. Junior Beginner Group ( $115.50) - Ages 13 & up Junior Group is for beginner swimmers, ages 13 and up. Training: Motivated and hard working, goal oriented. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 5 practices per week. The more practices the better. Increased focus on conditioning. Drills and stroke work included as needed. Monday - Thursday 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM Goals: Develop and improve aerobic conditioning, training disciplines, and competitive goals. Be able to swim legally and learn proper form in each stroke. Develop a desire to advance to the next group. Junior Advanced Group ( $127.50) - Ages 13 & up Junior Group is for intermediate swimmers, ages 13 and up. Members must complete a test set of 3x100 free @1:30 1x100 IM @1:45 three times through. Training: Motivated and hard working, goal oriented. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 6 practices per week. The more practices the better. Increased focus on conditioning. Drills and stroke work included as needed. Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4:50 AM to 6:30 AM, Monday - Thursday 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Saturday 6:50 AM to 9:00 AM Goals: Develop and improve aerobic conditioning, training disciplines, and competitive goals. Be able to swim multiple 200 IM's. Develop a desire to advance to the next group. Senior Group ( $132.50) - Ages 13 & up Senior group is for the self-motivated swimmer. Members should be proficient in all four strokes, be able to complete multiple 200 IM's. Must complete an entrance set of 3x100 free @1:20 and 1x100 IM @1:30 3x's continuously. Training: Training expectations of senior group members are high. Practices (including dry-land) will average 2-3 hours per session. Swimmers are to attend a minimum of 6 practices per week. Focus is on conditioning with some drill and stroke work. Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4:50 AM to 6:30 AM, Monday - Thursday 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Saturday 6:50 AM to 9:00 AM Goals: Strengthen all strokes and all events. Strive to achieve Senior Developmental Times in all 4 strokes and be able to swim the 400 IM. Be on time. Race in workouts. Masters ( $65) - Open to all Adults (ages: 18 and over) Training: Able to swim 25 yards. Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4:50 AM to 6:00 AM, Monday - Friday 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM or 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Saturday 6:50 AM to 8:15 AM Goals: Set by each swimmer. May include such goals as: cardiovascular conditioning, weight loss, toning, improving technique, competing in USA or Masters Meets (when available), Triathlons, Open water. Water Polo Swim Groups - Ages 5 & up This is a special discounted swim rate for Sand Canyons and Renegades Waterpolo members. Athletes can join the team for a discounted rate. They will be placed with the advanced group of their age group but, are only allowed to attend half the practices. Parents are not required volunteer hours and athletes are NOT allowed to compete in meets. Charges will be half the rate of their designated advanced age group and a one time registration fee of $50. PARA - Open to all disabled Yucaipa Swim Team is proud to train athletes of all disabilities. We currently have athletes competing in PARA meets and Special Olympics. Training: Differs per athlete. Athletes will train with their age group. Goals: Set by each swimmer individually.
